CITY PROJECT

What started off as a simple investigation in using cups as open-ended materials, has led to a total investigation in studying communities.

One student innocently asked, “Maybe the class should do a whole project together using cups.”

“Like building a city.” Elijah suggested. The entire class cheered with agreement.

Six weeks later and the class has explored human needs, the economy, and how government works.

The class spent time building skyscrapers, starting business, and constructing shelters for their Lego citizens.
