Fables
In Language Arts we’ve been learning about fables. We read, acted a few out, and even created shadow puppets. We read an amazing book called Zen Shorts and the class decided to make it into a play. Ask your child what their favorite fable from the book was. If they’re up to the challenge ask them to tell you their favorite fable.
Projectime
We started the year off discussing our families and ourselves. We built a class timeline and talked about out hopes and dreams for the future. Next week we will be making a family tree so send in any pictures you have of grandparents, brothers, sisters and of course yourself. They will be talking about the origins of their names, so there’s an interview sheet coming home.
Currently we are trying to answer our essential question “What do humans being need in order to survive?” The class is building models of communities to illustrate our findings.
